The Body
As you can see we have taken our custom concept a little bit further here. The Hard Edge has our style of F whole in the body to lend some acoustic blend to the sound.
To the right you can see what we have done with the surface of the guitar. It is as unique as it gets. We took a disk sander, with a good grit disk and let it skip across the top and back of the guitar. Each gouge lets the bright raw aluminum shine from it. Then we put a Harley Davidson Candy Paint over that pattern gouged surface and it simply makes the pattern shine out more. The effect in person, 'cause you can't really see it well with the pictures on line, is amazing, it is 3d, truly.
The guitar on the right is Chrome, real car chrome and on top of this beautiufl chrome we have etched a remarkable image called the Muse. It is permantly in the sufface as a hard ceramic. A process that is very unique and only on our guitars.
The Sound
Spectacular sound with just a bit more edge. Lindy Fralin Special Wind P 92's, Humbucked but pure single coil sound, bring this guitar to life. Lindy winds this set so that the guitar absolutley rings. Lindy is well know for his old school pickups and they are well suited for this guitar.
Bridge and Tuners
We use a Gotoh Wilkinson wrap around compensatalbe bridge, that is perfect for hanging onto the tone and simple and easy to set-up. Once done, its done, stays that way.
Tuners Gotoh's premium 3 x 3 tuners, full chrome drops, are beautiful to look at and a dream to use, with an 18:1 ratio. The tuners have unique permanent Lubri-Plate™ coating on the gears assures consistent lubrication without grease, for smoother tuning. Gotoh's new Rock-Solid™ string posts eliminate looseness for better tuning stability, they stay in tune!
The Guitar's Neck
Stainless dual-action truss rod, 12" FB radius an absolutely fabulous 8 degrees of headstock angle to put the right amount of tension on the strings, med-jumbo steel frets, .103 wide and .048 tall, 1.71" wide @ nut, 2.22" wide @ 22nd fret. We take a block of ebony and find the sweet spot grains on it and hew, yes, hew our finger boards from it. Beautiful long smooth fingerboards.
The neck is a wonderful balance between thickness and speed, we use a compound radius that is on our opinon the best for feel and for functionality.
The neck is painted black, with three coats of black paint then seven thin coats of clear, that is wet sanded and buffed after each coat.
This process gives our necks a rich and substantial feel.
The strings.
We put DR strings, they have the most incredible sound, just perfect guitar sound. They are hand wound on a round core. This is based on a very old method, but executed with the latest most advanced metal available. The other thing about these strings, is the feel, absolutely unbelievable, so smooth and easy to touch, nothing harsh on them at all. Even if you don't buy our guitars , you should put these on your guitar
